R&D Chemist

With supervision, this position develops personal care and color cosmetic products to meet customer’s demands.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Follow established formulas to create laboratory batches of personal care and color cosmetics.
  • Complete product development projects under the supervision of the Sr. R&D Chemist.
  • Identify and obtain new raw materials on an ongoing basis, along with appropriate safety/technical documentation, specifications, samples, etc. for new formulations.
  • Conduct all required performance and tests, interprets, records and reports results accurately.
  • Test batches for product conformance.
  • Stability test and monitor results of lab batches.
  • Keep accurate records of batches and stability results.
  • Meet with customers and raw materials vendors as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory.
  • Review industry publications and raw materials literature to increase awareness of industry trends.
  • Must adhere to safety standards during laboratory testing, such as wearing protection clothing and taking additional precautions as needed.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by supervisor.

 

 

EDUCATION:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related discipline.

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 3 years or more of product development experience in skin care.

The Human Resources Manager guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies and programs for the company. The Human Resources Manager will provide an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, productivity and high standards. Responsible for the development of processes that support the achievement of the organization’s business goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the full cycle of recruiting and employment process to fill vacant positions for Exempt/Non-Exempt and Internship positions
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
  • Implemented Company’s culture for employee engagement and retention
  • Keeps records of personnel transactions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews and termination
  • Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety and sexual harassment
  • Supervise the Front Desk Coordinator
  • Performed benefit administration, including Leave of Absences, PTO accruals and Worker’s Compensation
  • Assists with payroll administration
  • Develop and implement personnel policies, Employee Handbook and job descriptions
  • Approved appropriate resolution of employee relations issues with discretion and confidentially
  • Handled sponsorship of H1-B employees and J-1 visa interns
  • Prepared employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducted exit interviews
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Investigated a variety of Human Resources related issues (e.g., EEOC, Wage and Hour, Harassment, ADA, Discrimination, employee disputes, etc.) in a timely manner
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Obtained Human Resources Management certifications

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong knowledge of Federal and State laws
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written
  • Good leadership skills
  • Superb organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to mentor and coach employees in different levels in the organization
  • Effective knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work and supervise others
  • Uses good judgement and always tactful and diplomatic when dealing with confidential information
