QC/Micro Technician

Provides support for all manufacturing activities. Participates in activities such as: general laboratory, equipment maintenance, and data archiving/trending.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Perform Microbiological testing of Raw Materials/Bulk Products/Finished Products and documentation as per procedure.
  • Sampling and Microbiological testing of water as per the procedure.
  • Perform environmental monitoring activity as per the procedure.
  • Preparation of certificate of analysis of Raw Materials/Bulk Products/Finished Products.
  • Perform media growth promotion test as per procedure.
  • Monitor cleaning and sanitization of Microbiology laboratory.
  • Maintaining laboratory inventory, Microbiological cultures and purchase supplies as needed.
  • Initiate/review SOPs, change control, etc, per need.
  • Perform raw material sampling, testing and documentation as per need.
  • Monitor/perform internal calibration and troubleshooting of pH meter, analytical balance, incubators, thermometers, autoclave, etc.
  • Writes/revises written procedures as needed.
  • Assists in Microbiology and facility related investigations.
  • Reviews logbooks/forms and archives and trends data.
  • Takes accountability on assigned tasks/projects to ensure they are completed on time. Able to multitask and adjust to demands while keeping the daily priorities on track.
  • Supports activities including the maintenance and calibration of instrumentation.
  • Keeps current with FDA, ISO, EU and cGMP standards and industry trends.
  • Responsible for the following GMPs, GLPs and safety policies.
  • Responsible for the following approved test methods and SOPs.
  • Reports to the Sr. Supervisor of Microbiology, who will coordinate their activities.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by supervisor.

 

 

EDUCATION:

 

At least a two year degree in Chemistry, BioChemistry, Chemical Engineering Biology or related disciplines is preferred.

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

Some knowledge of the skin care industry.

Purchasing/Inventory Manager 

The Purchasing/Inventory Manager will oversee all the purchasing and inventory management functions. Partnering with the operations and finance teams to help build and maintain efficient processes and procedures for supplier and inventory management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Establishing processes and procedures for efficient procurement and inventory management.

  • Analyze data to anticipate future needs.
  • Reporting of purchasing trends, supply usage, and contract performance.
  • Developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies.
  • Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms.
  • Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory.
  • Report to upper management on stock levels, issues, etc.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

 

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience of purchasing management.
  • An Industry Certification in procurement management.
  • Proven experience as inventory manager or similar position.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management software.
  • Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports.
  • An analytical mind with strong math skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Reliable and trustworthy.
  • An understanding of purchasing processes and inventory databases.
  • Experience in raw materials purchasing.
  • Should be able to offer clients different packaging options and source them from different vendors.

R&D Chemist

With supervision, this position develops personal care and color cosmetic products to meet customer’s demands.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Follow established formulas to create laboratory batches of personal care and color cosmetics.
  • Complete product development projects under the supervision of the Sr. R&D Chemist.

  • Conduct all required performance and tests, interprets, records and reports results accurately.
  • Test batches for product conformance.

Responsibilities will include: conduct research, testing, and documentation including the collection of information and samples of raw materials, bulk intermediates and finished products for the physical, chemical and microbiological parameters. Analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings. Assay Testing of Materials and products by using sophisticated instruments. Analysis and documentation of finished product satiability samples for the physical, chemical parameters. Responsible for providing support to any investigation regarding lab deviation or nonconformance, out of specification and change control procedure. Perform microbiological testing such as water analysis, environmental monitoring, media preparation, and growth promotions. Responsible for following current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and good laboratory practice (GLP) as per regulations. Responsible for the preparation of the Standard Operating Procedures, Test Procedures and Protocols. Utilize experience in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), for identifying microbial agents, and responsible for maintaining lab as an ISO 17025 standard.

 

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Biology, Biotechnology, and Microbiology or a related field, plus two (2) years of experience in a related occupation. Position also requires experience in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), for identifying microbial agents, and responsible for maintaining lab as an ISO 17025 standard.
